    Your farmers market prices are amazing! Where I live all those veggies would have been the whole $50 budget. I tried to do a $50 budget challenge but it was impossible with inflation.! But we as a single person or even someone with a toddler I think it could work. Me lol I have 3 teenage boys and a teenage girl. Have you ever done a pantry challenge?

    I loved your video. I'm 66 and honestly, I grew up when no one used plastic gloves to handle food. There was no such thing as disinfecting soap or all the various "anti germ" devices and products. Food prep was very casual. I don't recall ever being required to wash hands before eating or food prep. We lived on a farm. I had 5 brothers and sisters. We're all still healthy and alive! Imagine that!

    Looking great in your new colours. The green in your wardrobe towards the end that you’re not sure about is definitely warm, not cool. Warm colours will have more yellow in them, cool colours will have more blue. When you’re not sure, hold the colour against a colour you do know the undertone of and that usually helps identify whether it’s warm or cool. Over time, it gets easier and you’ll get even more confident about what works for you. Enjoy the journey!

    So glad to see you've found the budget wonder than is Aldi and a veggie market. From what I've heard from farmers, they'd all prefer to have contracts with Aldi over Coles or Woolworths as Aldi pays the farmers the best rates and still has the cheapest prices of the 3 supermarkets. P.S. Aldi has lots of healthy, cheap recipes on their website with ideas of how to stretch food - not something we expect a retailer to do

    This is why I shop around for price, quantities and quality. I food prep huge and started canning and preserving for this very reason. Things are so expensive now days and I have hungry teens to feed 😂. I have the magazines from that time from Coles and woolies and I'll be looking at picking a few meals from them to see how different the challenge is on my end. Thanks for the video!!❤❤

    If ypu buy proteins like dry legumes, tofu etc you not only buy a lot cheaper, it's also better for the animals, environment, climate & your body.

    • @alismithhhh
      @alismithhhh 3 дні тому

      Maybe I could try this in a video, do you think it would be best to try and avoid all animal products or just start off as vegetarian? Also as someone who isn’t vegan or vegetarian, what’s your opinion on me doing a challenge like that? Do you think it’s okay or would it be generally perceived as performative? I’m not part of that community so I’m not sure what the general vibe is on this sort of thing!

    • @legalalien2127

      @@alismithhhh I just can tell you what I experienced. I was omnivor for a very long time & what I know regnet is not having no animal exploitation products on my plate but having waited for so long going vegan. I can not tell you, what to do. Everybody has go find its own way. I just can tell yoz that plantbased is cheaper & healthier (as long as you"re not using too much hpf), it's better for the climate & of course for the animals. I myself don't like watching videos in which whole dead chicken are shown. But unfortunately it's daily reality for most people in industrialised lands to consume animal exploitation. So it's on me if I can stand reality or not. Maybe you can try to have one or two plantbased days a week. You will find that there are a lot of recepies you never thought about before. Maybe you can show them on your channel & see how it works out. Wish you all the best

      @@alismithhhh just a suggestion, don't label the meals vegetarian, or god forbid vegan(😂), because you're bound to have someone who will find fault and decide to be offended. Just say they're meat free meals.

    • @katrijndekeersmaecker1904
      @katrijndekeersmaecker1904 2 дні тому

      @@alismithhhh Reasonable people will do nothing but applaud you for trying to consume less animal products, even if you don't cut them out completely or do it just for a limited time. Off course there are some extremists who are never happy but that's the internet for you. As the terms 'vegetarian' and especially 'vegan' often imply an ethical position and can mean things that go beyond diet, it could be useful to use the terms 'meat free' and 'plant based' instead. If you do decide to do vegan or plant based, I would also either check that you don't buy things that contain milk and eggs (a surprising amount of packaged things do!) or disclose in the beginning of the video that you are not taking that sort of thing into account. It would be an interesting vid to see in any case!
